FAST_START_MTTR_TARGET in standard edition

ORA-02097 and ORA-00439 When Setting FAST_START_MTTR_TARGET To Value 300 ID 951835.1  Applies to: Oracle Server - Standard Edition - Version 10.2.0.4 and later Information in this document applies to any platform. ***Checked for relevance on 29-Jun-2012*** Symptoms When setting the FAST_START_MTTR_TARGET with alter system to 300 (seconds) this returns ORA-02097 and ORA-00439. ORA-02097 parameter cannot be modified because specified value is invalid. ORA-439 feature not enabled: %s Changes No changes. Just trying to set the parameter that was not set manually before. Cause The RDBMS Standard Edition does not support FAST_START_MTTR_TARGET (one would need a Enterprise Edition for that). Solution To implement the solution, please execute the following steps: Upgrade to RDBMS Enterprise Edition to use FAST_START_MTTR_TARGET - OR - Do not try to set FAST_START_MTTR_TARGET
