ORA-01722: invalid number

You may encounter error  ORA-01722: invalid number when a job is running.
This error is raised when there is a non-numeric valueand when you try co convert a non-number to number.
Most of the that column has as numeric value but several are decoded as character strings.

This error may also appear due to wrong nls settings ( including  nls for jobs ) .
