db flash cache for 11.2.0.3

ORA-00439 During Startup Of Database With Oracle Flash Cache [ID 1473149.1]

This issue only occurs on ORACLE LINUX 6

Symptoms

Trying to activate Oracle Flash Cache on ORACLE ENTERPRISE LINUX 6 raises an ORA-00439 while starting a database.

SQL> startup
ORA-00439: feature not enabled: Server Flash Cache

Cause

The issue is caused by unpublished
Bug 12949806 - FLASH CACHE CHECK IS AGAINST ENTERPRISE-RELEASE

The issue will be fixed in server patch set 11.2.0.4 and future major release.

Solution

For 11.2.0.3, please apply Patch 12949806
