Instance Crash After Setting Flash Cache: ORA-17502 ORA-15113 [ID 1497183.1]

Symptoms

RAC database instance crashed after enabling Flash Cache:

ARC3 started with pid=43, OS id=9949
ARC1: Archival started
ARC2: Archival started
ARC2: Becoming the 'no FAL' ARCH
ARC2: Becoming the 'no SRL' ARCH
ARC1: Becoming the heartbeat ARCH
SUCCESS: diskgroup FLASH1 was mounted
Error recreating specified db_flash_cache_file=+FLASH1/mengine/ due to ORA-15113
Errors in file /app/oracle/diag/rdbms/mengine/MENGINE1/trace/MENGINE1_dbw0_9827.trc:
ORA-17502: ksfdcre:3 Failed to create file +FLASH1/mengine/
ORA-15113: alias name 'MEngine' refers to a directory DBW0 (ospid: 9827): terminating the instance due to error 17502

Cause

Use the filenameinstead of folder name fordb_flash_cache_file

Solution

The parameter db_flash_cache_file must contain the file name in its full path.
